What kind of wax do you use?

We use blends of soy and paraffin waxes for both candles and melts.  The percentages vary depending on the product.

Do I really need to trim the candle wick?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  The wick should be trimmed to 1/4" before lighting the candle.  You should remove the trimmings before lighting.  Untrimmed wicks can cause soot, excessive heat and overall poor performance.

My candle is making soot.

Accepted Answer

Make sure the wick is trimmed properly (1/4") before lighting.  Our candles have a heavy fragrance load for maximum scent throw and some may produce soot when the wax level gets low.

We use different wick types in our candles.  All of our wicks are cotton core and DO NOT contain any lead.
